AHDS Identifier Resolver

This service incorporates a rule based URI and URN resolver which converts persistent identifiers to alternative locally accessible URI and URL forms. Using the parallel Resource Gateway, resources identified by the accessible URIs can then be automatically retrieved by streaming the locally accessible resource to the client.

The resolver part of the service is currently configured to deal with the following AHDS collection level identifier types:

Pseudo URNs with a NID of 'ahds.ac.uk' or 'x-ahds', for example, 'urn:ahds.ac.uk:ads:123'
OAI Identifiers with a namespace identifier of 'ahds.ac.uk', for example, 'oai:ahds.ac.uk:ads-123'
Item level OAI identifiers for Visual Arts and Fitzwilliam records
