The Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust (STDT) was established in 1995 with a remit to promote, conserve and research all traditions of dance in Scotland. The organisation's archive includes records generated by the Trust while fulfilling these aims through event organisation, event participation, educational outreach and oral history recording. A large part of the collection consists of oral history interviews, conducted throughout Scotland, on the subject of Scottish dance and music. The archive also includes deposited material relating to Scottish traditions of dance and dance music in all its forms and as practised in any geographical location, including music manuscripts, dance instructions, photographs and dance ephemera. All analogue material is available to consult at the STDT's offices in Stirling.
