Advice for AHRC Grant Applicants The Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB) became the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) on 1st April 2005. Our advice is being updated to reflect this change, but readers should presume that any advice that formerly pertained to AHRB now applies to the AHRC also. Applicants for AHRC grants from Panel 1 (Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology) should contact Catherine Hardman (csh3@york.ac.uk), preferably before submitting their applications. We are happy to provide advice and guidance for applicants on all aspects of their applications, but with specific attention to the "Technical Appendix". In this appendix, applicants are asked to describe the technical and managerial resources available to them and how they will be deployed in the context of the proposed research. Our experience in both these areas, allied to our understanding of the strategic aims of AHRC means that we are well placed to support and advise on applications. In doing this, we seek to ensure that all applications are evaluated primarily on the merits of their contribution to research.
