Organising Waiver of Deposit

Information on how to request a Waiver of Deposit

Award-holders of grants from the AHRC and the BA are obliged to deposit any significant digital resource with the AHDS. However, there may be occasions when the AHDS is happy to offer an award-holder or potential award-holder a waiver of deposit

Example circumstances in which a waiver of deposit might be offered

  • When the resource in question is a piece of software
  • When the resource is adding to an existing digital catalogue
  • When the resource is already being preserved by an acknowledged digital archive.

Those who believe they may be in a position to apply for a Waiver of Deposit should ensure they have read the appropriate Waiver of Deposit Policy.

Once the policy has been read and the grant-holder or applicant is confident their resource is suitable for a waiver of deposit, the Online Waiver of Deposit Form should be filled in.

Those with queries should contact the relevant member of the AHDS Depositing Advice Team.
