Poll Books Poll books are a primary source for the understanding of voting behaviour in the past. They generally contain the voting preference of individual voters along with their address. Different constituencies contain varying levels of information. AHDS History holds a small selection of digitised poll books which are listed below. AHDS History is particularly interested in expanding its collection of poll books and would be happy to hear from anyone who would like to make their poll books available. Available from AHDS History's Collection Clicking on the links below will take you to the relevant catalogue record from the UK Data Archive catalogue. | Study No. | Title | | SN 4609 | Parliamentary Poll Books of Colchester, Essex, 1806, 1807 and 1812 | | SN 4609 | Parliamentary Poll Books of Colchester, Essex, 1806, 1807 and 1812 | | SN 4241 | Name, Residence, Vote and Occupation for the 1852 and 1857 Sheffield General Elections | | SN 4170 | Parliamentary Poll Books of Sandwich, Kent, 1831-1868 | | SN 3908 | Westminster Historical Database, 1749-1820; Voters Social Structure and Electoral Behaviour | | SN 3179 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Lynn Regis Poll Books, 1822 | | SN 3178 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Northampton Borough Elections, 1768-1796 | | SN 3165 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Guildford Poll Books, 1865 and 1866 | | SN 3038 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; St Albans Poll Books, 1820-1830 | | SN 3036 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Essex Poll Books, 1702-1722 | | SN 3035 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Hereford Poll Books, 1734-1764 | | SN 3034 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Worcester Poll Books, 1841-1857 | | SN 3033 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Shrewsbury Poll Books, 1814 | | SN 3032 | Psephological Datasets, 1702-1865; Totnes Poll Books, 1837-1865 | | SN 2948 | Ashford, 1840 - 1870 : a Socio-Demographic Study | | SN 977 | Voting Behaviour in Guildford, 1790-1868 |
