Census enumerators' books are the primary historical source for the study of family and local history from 1851 to 1901. Copies of the original CEBs are available nationally from the Family Records Centre and in many local libraries and archives. Selections of many of these CEBs have been digitised, and some of these are available from AHDS History. These are not all formatted in the same way, so they may not be comparable.

 Available from AHDS History's Collection

The enriched version of the 1881 Census is available to UK higher and further education users through CHCC
